"The popularity of 'Controlled Release Fertilizers (CRF),' a fertilizer that slowly dissolves key ingredients over an extended period, is enhanced by Nousbo's technological prowess, becoming the key to business success."
The decrease in agricultural land and farming population is impacting the fertilizer market directly. While the domestic market is gradually shrinking, global raw material prices are fluctuating, and various subsidies are decreasing, creating challenging conditions for the fertilizer industry.
However, despite these conditions, many companies are turning their eyes to the export market. Nousbo is one such company.
Boasting itself as a 'technology-based agriculture specialist,' Nousbo actively engages in overseas business activities based on its technological capabilities.
Mr. Han Ku, Overseas Business Director, stated, "Nousbo is a company with world-class CRF technology." He added, "In 2023, we expanded into the Central and South American markets, including Brazil and Chile, and registered products in the European market. In December of last year, we achieved the milestone of being recognized as the 'Ten Million Dollar Export Top.'"
CRF, Nousbo's flagship export product, is an efficient fertilizer. Its feature lies in the fact that the main components of the fertilizer are released according to the crop's growth stage. This means that you only need to fertilize once, and you don't have to apply fertilizer again until harvest. This not only drastically reduces fertilizer usage but also saves on labor required for fertilization. This is why CRF has gained global attention.
Director Ku emphasized, "Climate change adaptation and the low-carbon agriculture trend significantly influence fertilizer usage." He explained, "Especially in the European Union (EU), there is a policy goal to reduce fertilizer usage by more than 20% from 2020 levels by 2030. Here, CRF, which can reduce the amount of fertilizer used, plays a crucial role."
He further highlighted, "Nousbo not only already possesses excellent technological capabilities for the global trend of CRF products but is also actively working on the development of environmentally friendly, reduced-emission, biodegradable resin-coated fertilizers through projects with the Rural Development Administration."
Nousbo has also completed tests to enter the Australian and New Zealand markets last year. Director Ku stated, "This year, we plan to expand specialized products for crops in Southeast Asia and North America and enter Europe, Oceania, and South America. In the medium to long term, we are determined to build a global supply chain by forming partnerships with overseas companies or securing production facilities to develop the fertilizers with biodegradable coating.
